Spruce Collection

Spruce collection takes place on Sunday 1st June 2008. All parties wishing to collect spruce should meet Gardeners Lane carpark (opposite the new Aldi/old Safeway) at 9:30am.
Please bring suitable cutting equipment such as secateurs and if possible bags or tarpaulins to store and carry the spruce you cut. Waterproof clothing and gardening gloves are also advised.
A lorry will be available for anyone needing their spruce transported back.
When collecting spruce we ask that you follow these guidlines for your safety and to comply with the terms set by the forestry commission :-
  • Please only cut what you need from the trees, do not fell or strip trees. No chainsaws are allowed.
  • Be mindful of your own and others safety, the area may be boggy or slippery, especially if it rains. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
  • Please do not smoke when near the trees. If you need to smoke please move to the side of the road away from the forest.


    • Procession committee members will be present on the day to answer any questions or queries.
